Christmas Spectacular charity show raises over £11,000 for the Potters Friends Foundation
A charity performance of Potters Theatre Company’s 2019 Christmas Spectacular on Saturday 14th December 2019 at Potters Resort raised £11,234.42 for the Potters Friends Foundation.
The sold out show was seen by over 700 people, with all proceeds from ticket sales of the family-friendly show going to the community interest company to distribute to worthy causes in the community.
Before the performance, guests were treated to a mince pie and mulled pie on arrival to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. In the theatre, John Potter and Nathan Moore from Potters Friends Foundation spoke about some of the projects that the Foundation has supported and John even made a grand entrance in Santa’s sleigh!
The crowd was then treated to a performance of the Christmas Spectacular and Christmas Countdown, featuring festive favourites, local children, dazzling choreography, comedy, stunning sets, sparkling costumes and a live band. Rachel Baade also wowed the crowds with her stunning vocals, and also sung with Sion Hathway and Sion’s daughter, Anna. There was also a special performance from Father Christmas himself, a festive train ride and snow!
We caught up with John Potter, who said: “This year our generous guests and team have helped us raise tens of thousands of pounds for the Potters Friends Foundation supporting over 200 local causes. The annual charity matinee gives locals a chance to celebrate the festivities with us and 100 per cent of the ticket money goes to the Potters Friends Foundation. A massive thank you to everyone involved in putting on this special charity performance and to everyone who came along to watch the show.”
Potters Theatre Company has a cast and crew of 70.
