Bowled over as Judy’s Jacket raises £1,488.22
The curtain has come down on the 20th World Indoor Bowls Championships at Potters Resort and what a year it was! The Just 2018 World Indoor Bowls Championships were a huge success, with players from around the world competing to earn a place in history at the biggest bowls event in the world.
Once again, spectators attending the 17 days of bowls action had the opportunity to enter a competition to guess the colour of the jacket being worn by Judy Potter at the Final of the World Indoor Bowls Open Singles Championship. Judy wore a different coloured jacket for every day she attended the World Bowls matches and this fun competition was the perfect opportunity to raise money for worthy causes. Judy wore a patterned yellow jacket to the 2018 Final, and money was also raised from seat cushion and World Bowls Tour programme donations.
We caught up with Judy, who said: “This 40th anniversary of the Championships and 20 years hosted at Potters Resort, was yet again another wonderful year. I can’t thank our guests enough for their generosity in getting behind our fundraising activities during the Championships and contributing to the Potters Friends Foundation.”
