Circus Starr come to town!
One of the objectives of our Potters Friends Foundation is to support those making a difference in our community and we’re constantly looking for opportunities to get involved with organisations doing great work.
We were recently in contact with Circus Starr; a touring circus boasting world-class, professional artists from across the globe. It was first founded in 1987 and provides seats for thousands of disadvantaged, disabled or vulnerable children, whilst helping to raise much needed funds for local charities. With the support of local businesses, Circus Starr operates a unique donated ticket programme that, through local community groups and charities, allows thousands of children to attend free shows across the UK, who may otherwise not get the chance to enjoy the magic of circus.
On November 9th 2017, Circus Starr brought their magic to Great Yarmouth, and the Potters Friends Foundation was delighted to support with a contribution of just under £700; enough for 40 children and their families to have a great day out. In total, over 900 from the local community enjoyed the shows in the town.
“Within the first minute of arriving, the enjoyment and excitement began. Every single member of the staff were incredible, they could not do enough for you. The acts were amazing, we truthfully did not want to leave. Watching all the other children and their families, friends and helpers I could see their smiles and laughter which is the whole idea of you bringing enjoyment to all.”
