Duck Bill Potterpus returns safely to Potters Resort!
We’re delighted to welcome back Duck Bill Potterpus after his exertions in the recent Grand Norwich Duck Race, organised by and to raise funds for the charity, Break.
After making a solid start in a slow river current, our duck succumbed to the crowd of competitors around him, becoming engaged in far too much chit chat (or quack-quack?) before eventually crossing the line over an hour after the start. Whilst it is of course the taking part that counts, we’re equally pleased that Duck Bill made a great numbers of friends over the course of the race.
To raise further funds for Break, all ducks were auctioned at the Maids Head Hotel in Norwich shortly after the race and it seemed only right to bring our duck home to his rightful place. All in all, the Potters Friends Foundation contributed £1,000 to Break over the course of the event, who exist to offer support to young people and their families through the provision of children’s homes and fostering services.
We were also pleased to present Carrie Roper from our Housekeeping Team, who put together the design for our very first duck, a voucher for a meal for two at the Black Rock Grill folloiwng her artisitc efforts!
