Fundraising in sunny Cyprus
Since the Potters Friends Foundation was formed, we've been delighted with how our guests have embraced its fundraising objectives. Their support was well and truly on display at our recent Potters Festival in Cyprus.
Having knitted hundreds of handmade poppies prior to departure, Janet Adams and Linda Watkin-Jones sold these to guests at the Athena Beach Hotel, Paphos making over £300.00 which was kindly donated to the Potters Friends Foundation.
In addition, guests at the Hotel were invited to watch a rather 'interesting' exhibition game of bowls. What started as a 'fancy dress' match soon became more of a pantomime with the men dressing up as ladies, using a number of charity shops in the local area to find some rather stunning gowns for the big match and putting a whole new relevance to the concept of an 'exhibition' match…
Combined with sales of the beautiful handmade poppies, the Potters Friends Foundation was presented with a cheque by Dave and Janet Adams for £450.00!
A wonderful effort from all involved I'm sure you'll agree and we send our huge thanks and appreciation for the support.
