Judy’s cream jacket raises £2,500 for the Potters Friends Foundation
Spectators attending the Just 2019 World Indoor Bowls Championships, hosted at Potters Resort for 17 days from 11th to 27th January, were given the opportunity to enter a competition to guess the style of jacket worn by Mrs Judy Potter at the Open Singles Final.
Judy is known for her beautiful collection of jackets, with Judy wearing a different jacket every day she attended the live bowls action, providing a fun competition and the perfect opportunity to raise money for worthy causes in the Potters community.
The jacket worn by Judy at the World Bowls Open Singles Final on Sunday 27th January 2019 was cream, as guessed correctly by Carol Selwyn from Cromer, who is the lucky winner of a fantastic inclusive Weekend Break for two at the five star Potters Resort.
The tickets were sold throughout the Championships by the World Bowls Stewards and, along with money raised from seat cushion hire and programmes, £2,500 was raised to donate to the Potters Friends Foundation.
We caught up with Judy, a director at the Resort, who said: “This year’s Championships were a huge success and it never ceases to amaze me just how generous our guests and spectators are when it comes to supporting charity. A massive thank you to everyone who came along to watch the Championships and support the Potters Friends Foundation.”
On behalf of Potters Friends Foundation, we would love to thank our wonderful team of Bowls Stewards for selling the tickets and looking after all our guests and spectators throughout the Championships. The stewards are all volunteers, so a massive thank you to them for volunteering their time. Of course, a big thank you to everyone for helping us raise money throughout the Championships for the Foundation.
