Local college students compete for Rotary award
Media students at East Norfolk Sixth Form College were tasked back in June with a very unique project; to promote the 2017 Rotary District Conference hosted at Potters Resort.
Over the course of the following weeks, those students spent hours on Resort capturing its unique atmosphere and five star facilities, and many more in the editing suite cutting their video down to just one minute. Their final cuts were then put to a vote by a committee consisting of those organising the conference itself, including Robert Lovick, District Governor Elect for Rotary and Nathan Moore of the Potters Friends Foundation.
The standard was high but the eventual winner was Sebastian Lear, just pipping runners up Fay Yaxley and Victoria Brooks to the post. A joint contribution from both Great Yarmouth Haven Rotary Club and the Potters Friends Foundation saw Sebastian take home a cheque for £250.00 and Fay and Victoria each collecting £125.00 for their great efforts.
Well done to all and thanks to Robert and his colleagues at Great Yarmouth Haven Rotary Club for their vision in opening this competition up to our local, aspiring students.
