Mad dash for National Waiters Day!
Whether carrying a tray of drinks or gracefully serving guests in the Restaurant, friendly waiters and waitresses perform daily balancing acts. So, on Thursday 20th October, Potters Resort celebrated National Waiters Day with a fun charity obstacle relay to recognise the dedication and hard-work of the 75 members of its waiting team.
Guests cheered on waiters as they attempted to pick-up a place setting including cutlery, plates and cup and saucer from one table, go through an obstacle course with it, remake the place setting on another table and complete a jigsaw in the fastest time. The winning team ‘Roasted Beef’ were Steven Wright, Amber Wall, Bethany Cates and Ryan Johnson who each won a fully paid and much deserved day off. Almost £300 was raised on the day from guests and staff at Potters Resort and earlier in the day waiting staff were treated to breakfast, plus there were activities including a treasure hunt, as well as a special lunch and quiz.
The Potters management team from across Resort supported the team with lunch service. John Nemecek, our Restaurant Manager, said: “National Waiters Day celebrates the estimated 600,000 waiting and bar staff in the UK. Celebrating the day with the team is very important to me as it recognises their commitment, hard work and success.” Our MD John Potter said: “We really do value the hard work, dedication and friendliness of our waiting team who play such an important role in our guest’s experience. It takes a special kind of person to work in front-of-house roles and we are lucky to have such a talented and friendly team, who are efficient, attentive and build up a good rapport with guests while they are with us.”
