Potters Resort Raises a Paw-Fect £1,465.39 for Children in Need
On Friday 13th November 2015, team members at Potters Resort supported the 35th year of Children in Need, by raising £1,465.39 to help change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
Guests and visitors cheered on 32 members of the team as they took part in a cycle challenge in the Reception area, from Potters to BBC’s Elstree Studios where the glittering fund-raising evening took place. All in all, the team pedalled a total distance of 143 miles in just 8 hours; a magnificent effort.
Shane Brinded, IT Desktop Support Analyst, had his chest waxed after the Resort raised the threshold £500.00 mark; the first time he had ever been waxed! The Housekeeping Team raised a magnificent £370.00 through its charity rail, with team members donating clothes to raise funds. The Bungalows Team also were dressed-up in their pyjamas and onesies as they serviced the accommodation. In the Sales & Marketing office, the team could enjoy a treat at the pop-up ‘Pudsey’s Paw-fect Bakes & Shakes’, selling a range of smoothies, milkshakes and baked goodies. There was also a raffle, colourful clothing, quizzes and a ‘Guess the Baby’ competition.
On Friday night Buzby Allen, our very own Tourism Superstar, and Nathan Moore, CEO of the Potters Friends Foundation attended the BBC’s Look East Children in Need event at the Hippodrome Circus in Great Yarmouth to present Children in Need with a cheque; you might have just made out the bright yellow and orange suits if you were watching!
Money collected from our donation boxes and the Resort’s usual fundraising activities over the weekend, was also donated to Children in Need.
