Recognising ‘Community Champions’ in our wider Potters community
We were pleased to continue our support to the organisers of the Pride of Essex Awards in 2017, held recently at the Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford and celebrating the efforts of so many inspirational people in the county.
Our Potters community isn’t simply defined by our county borders; needless to say our guests play a massive part in what we are able to achieve as a business as well as our charitable efforts and as such, our community stretches far and wide. We love that we have the opportunity to be involved in such an amazing event, by sponsoring the category of Community Champion.
In 2017, the Potters Resort Community Champion Award was won by Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Stoten, who is part of the Essex Police Major investigations team. Not only does he work a huge amount of hours handling serious and difficult crime, he also somehow finds the time to run a charity focused boxing and fitness centre in Chelmsford where he has started a gang diversion program, giving free training to boys and girls who are at risk of gang involvement.
Furthermore, through boxing events over the last 6 years, he has raised over £160,000 for disabled children in Essex.
A worthy winner I am sure you will agree.
