Roll up, roll up for Circus Starr as kids ‘run away’ from troubles for a day
Circus Starr is coming to town and once again Potters Friends Foundation is supporting its incredible Big Top circus show, which uses the magic and wonder of live circus performance for local audiences of up to 1,000 disabled and underprivileged children and families to ‘run away’ to the circus and forget their troubles for a day.
With two performances taking place at Great Yarmouth Racecourse on 6th November 2018, Potters Friends Foundation has donated £680 to enable 40 vulnerable children and their families to attend the magical performance. It is more than a trip to the circus for these families, and can be life-changing.
Circus Starr is a world-class travelling circus with lots of drama, thrills and laughter with its Big Top Circus Spectacular wowing the senses. It has been described as “truly breath-taking and genuinely inclusive”.
Judith Halle, from Circus Starr, says: “Your support of our relaxed and inclusive Big Top circus means that you understand just how valuable family time shared at a fun, free and family event can be to a child with cognitive or physical challenges or difficult circumstances. In a survey we ran last autumn we asked our audience what usually stopped them from attending events of this kind, and 90{d7add0c0757ab8f5f3519b9c44dfa5d68336156785d7f1efcb577864635363f9} said that cost and accessibility were the main barriers. We know that fun matters and is key to forming stronger bonds and creating positive memories to take through life. We are very excited to bring our own celebration of circus to those who struggle socially and give them the chance to overcome fears, to explore live performance and try new adventures.”
