Supporting 2016 Pride of Essex Awards
We were delighted to attend and support the Pride of Essex Awards at the Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford on Tuesday 22nd November 2016, celebrating the efforts of many inspirational people in the county.
Our Potters community isn’t simply defined by our county borders; needless to say our guests play a massive part in what we are able to achieve as a business as well as our charitable work through the Foundation and as such, we consider our community to stretch far and wide. With that in mind, it was a pleasure to support the awards where Potters Resort sponsored the category of Community Champion. It was humbling to meet some very special people doing great things for those less fortunate than others in this great county, as well as hearing their own personal stories which in many cases were equally as challenging.
The Potters Resort Community Champion Award was won by Geoffrey Lee who, after 50 years of cycling for good causes raising over £150,000, had one final journey left in him; a 350 mile, 4 day journey from London to Paris. You can see more about Geoffrey and our other commended nominees by clicking here.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank David Dennison and Susie Cornell MBE for the opportunity to support the awards in 2016 and for their wonderful hospitality.
