Tickets for Potters Charity Christmas Show now on sale!
We are once again opening the doors of our Atlas Theatre on Sunday 2nd December 2018 for a special charity performance of the 2018 Christmas Spectacular, but be quick as last year it sold out in record time.
The Potters Theatre Company matinee show will feature everyone’s favourite Christmas songs, as well as dazzling choreography, comedy, sparkling costumes, Elves, Santa, and stunning sets and scenery. As well as the Potters Theatre Company cast, the 2018 show will feature local youngsters in the magical opening scene, set on Christmas Eve.
We caught up with Nigel Pattle, our Entertainments Director, who says: “Throughout the show you can expect the usual fantastic visual spectacle of costumes and wonderful sets, and our huge LED screen will transport you from one incredible scene to another in seconds. The Christmas Spectacular is one of the most expensive shows we ever produce with hundreds of lavish outfits, wigs, shoes and props. The costumes alone take weeks of being made, fitted and embellished with the all-important finishing touch of thousands of diamantes before they make their way to the stage. As well as plenty of chart topping Christmas number ones and festive favourites, there will also be new songs and rarely heard music to leave guests guessing what’s coming next. There really is no better atmosphere than Potters at Christmas and it is a real treat for us all to put on this special matinee performance of the Spectacular for the Potters Friends Foundation.”
All proceeds from the family-friendly matinee performance will go to Potters Friends Foundation, a community interest company founded in memory of Brian Potter MBE, to support worthy causes in the community. Last year over £8,000 was raised from the performance, with cheques donated to local charities.
We also had a chat with John Potter, Founder and Patron of Potters Friends Foundation, who comments: “Already this year, our guests and team have helped us raise thousands of pounds for the Potters Friends Foundation supporting local good causes, and we are very proud of this effort and grateful to all those that have helped. Our large production shows are usually held every evening exclusively for our resident guests and non-residents attending the Black Rock Grill, so this one-off Christmas Sunday matinee show is a great opportunity for locals to see the show and celebrate the festivities with us, whilst supporting local good causes at the same time. The show features hit after hit of festive tunes, and is the perfect way to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. 100{d7add0c0757ab8f5f3519b9c44dfa5d68336156785d7f1efcb577864635363f9} of the ticket money is donated to the Potters Friends Foundation set up in memory of my late father Brian Potter MBE and your ticket donation will enable us to support many more great causes in our local community, continuing his wonderful legacy.”
Potters Theatre Company has a cast and crew of 70 and begins work on the Christmas Spectacular after Easter.
The show is at 3pm on Sunday 2nd December 2018.
Tickets are available for a minimum donation of £15 (12 years and over) and £7.50 (under 12), and are available by calling 01502 735181 or visiting our Booking Lounge.
