Twenty20 update with Nelsons Journey
Potters Friends Foundation is proud to have worked with twenty other local businesses in 2018 to help Nelson’s Journey raise £55,000 in their 20th birthday year.
Nelson’s Journey’s vision is that every bereaved child in Norfolk will look forward to a positive future, empowered to reach their full potential, and bring back smiles to children.
The mission of Nelson’s Journey is to increase the self-esteem, self-belief and wellbeing of bereaved children in Norfolk, by enabling families and wider society to talk openly about death and bereavement, and for children to express and understand emotions.
It was a pleasure to go to Smiles House, Nelson’s Journey’s HQ, and be presented with a commemorative celebration log slice. We also heard from their Child Bereavement Support Worker, Lisa, about how money raised will help them, with hundreds of children benefitting from the specialist bereavement support provided by the support worker that the money raised has funded over the next two years.
Nelson’s Journey’s Chief Executive, Simon Wright, said: “The incredible collaborative total from these twenty businesses has exceeded even our wildest expectations, and we’ve been thrilled with how much enthusiasm and ingenuity has gone into the various fundraising methods from the businesses. It’s been great to see how this group of businesses have worked together, supporting each other over the last twelve months and building lasting relationships with each other and a lasting legacy for Nelson’s Journey. Thank you to all the businesses that took part in the Twenty20 this year.”
A massive thank you to all the team at Nelson’s Journey for the inspiring work that they do in making such a difference to young children every day.
